Content course – donate what you can? Seriously? YES! I am creating a LIVE content course in January and i am not charging a whopping great fee for it, i am simply asking for people to donate what they can afford. I have sent a minimum of £10 donation, but i am open to bigger donations. This will help start up businesses and smaller businesses with little to no budget.

Content courses are generally rather expensive, but with this it doesn’t have to break the bank.

Why so cheap? I was a small business once with a small budget and couldn’t afford all the courses that were available. So I decided I wanted to make an incredible offer to people over Christmas and New Year.

Here are 5 marketing tips that every business large or small should master. We all want to grow our businesses and make the right decisions for it, but it can be hard with so much conflicting information out there. Most businesses hardest part is finding their customers/clients. If it was easy, we’d all be successful right?

In a nutshell, as Kotler and Armstrong said: Marketing is the social process by which individuals and organizations obtain what they need and want through creating and exchanging value with others.

The process by which companies create value for customers and build strong customer relationships in order to capture value from customers in return.

  1. Firstly, marketing starts by understanding your customers. Once you understand them, you learn how to best talk to them and where to market to them. That’s how those all important relationships are built.
  2. Understand that marketing is an ongoing process, a daily process that you don’t give up on.
  3. Find where your customers are and then market to them. That’s where number one comes in, you understand your customers, find where they are and then build relationships with them by effectively marketing to them.
  4. Invest in some amazing content. Don’t try and ‘fudge it’ and guess. Speak to someone like me and get help. You could waste years in business doing it wrong. My Content Packages are a hit and go down well.
  5. Lastly keep learning. Learn what’s current, keep up to date and master these marketing tips. Find people in your industry who are on top and see what they’re doing.

Plan To Succeed or Plan To Fail

Plan to succeed or plan to fail – ever heard of that saying? Probably a 1000 times right? If you don’t plan to succeed in your business and sit down and actually start planning how you’re going to succeed, how will you succeed? This saying applies to all of the New Year’s resolutions people made a couple of months ago – getting in shape, becoming financially stable, and yes, your social media strategy, too. Have you succeeded in sticking with the plan?

Tips on how you can plan to succeed.

Throughout December, i got planning, i wanted and of course still do, for 2017 to be my best year yet, especially after a hard 2016. So i sat down and started to plan to succeed. I bought a couple of fabulous journals and planners and got started. It really helped me clear my head and get focused. Here are some tips to get started (it’s not to late to succeed and plan, we’re only in February)

  • Prioritise your goals and decide how you plan on achieving them. Write down step by step how you are going to achieve those goals.
  • Know your business objectives. What are you actually trying to achieve on social media? Building your email list? Building relationships? (which you should be doing anyway) Making sales? For example, if you’re wanting to drive sales but push image-heavy content with no easy click-through option, users will drop off and you will fall short of accomplishing your website traffic & sales quota.
  • Huge tip before you write your strategy: Tell your story, don’t just try to sell to people all day long.
  • Now start writing that strategy. Decide which social media platforms you are going to concentrate on. How often will you post and what times of day? (Then you have to actually stick to this)

What does your audience want to see?

Most of all, your audience wants an experience. They want to feel special, feel like they matter and of course want to see great customer service. Another thing, find out what your audience is passionate about and get focused on that. Lastly, show your audience your passion. This is such a simple marketing tactic, yet so many companies are missing the boat.

Then maybe do the odd competition or giveaway. It doesn’t have to be a full make up set or item of clothing, it can be a discount code. People just love entering competitions, i’ve been doing it on This Facebook Page for years on and off and it works.

Visual Content Your Audience Will Devour

Visual content, the piece of the pie that so many businesses are missing. You want visual content that your audience will devour right? Of course you do! It’s an essential part of marketing and by essential, i really mean essential, as in imperative. Don’t go slacking on your visuals.

So what’s the secret sauce to great visual content?

Here are some of my best tips on how to get your visuals up to scratch. You want your visual content to be better than your competitors right? I thought so. There is no magic formula as such, but here is what people are doing and it’s working! So here goes:

  1. Be Original! Dang it, everyone is out there posting the same things, we’ve all done it and sometimes on a rushed day when i haven’t managed my time properly, i do it. BUT in general, my content is original, it’s my own and i create it. So i know nobody has that exact same graphic kicking around with the exact same text. I buy my graphics, then put my own words on it in my own style. How often can you say you do that?
  2. Plan Your Content: Yes, as i said, when time hasn’t been on my side or when i have managed my time poorly, i post what i have to hand. But when i am managing my time properly, i schedule and plan my content, which thankfully is most of the time.
  3. Keep It Relevant: You want to keep your posts relevant to your target audience. If you’re a florist, you’re hardly going to post about football, it’s just common sense. So keep it relevant folks and study your audience. Easy to do via Facebook Insights.
  4. Be Consistent: Don’t just post when you remember, sit down and write a plan of when you intend to post. Then set up a hootesuite account and schedule your posts. I schedule up to 2-3 days in advance. Not only do i know that people will be regularly seeing my posts, it takes the stress away.
