Instagram Tips That Are Easy to Follow

Instagram tips that will help you grow your Instagram by making a few tweaks to your profile. This social media platform is a very visual platform, the picture needs to say it all and Then the text.

Instagram Tips 101

  • Ensure your bio says what you do – bullet point format works well. It makes it easy to read. At the bottom you have the option to add a link, pop a link to your website there.
  • Post often, not when you remember. Instagram is such a busy place (as are all social networking platforms now) that it’s imperative that you’re super consistent. I post on Instagram at least 3 times a day, 4 if i’m on a roll. The minimum is 2 a day if i’m swamped. But i don’t miss a day.
  • Size is everything they say! In the case of social media, you’re damn right it is! Your images must be the right size for Instagram, otherwise the text will run off the page etc. You want your profile to look professional.
  • Use catchy images that will stop people scrolling to read what you’ve got to say. The best way to do this is either design your own or get someone like myself to design them for you. Do the best for your social media as soon form the start. Don’t dabble, get straight in there. Contact Me Here if you’d like to work together on this.

Hashtag Instagram Tips

My final BIG Instagram tip is hashtags. Instagram is ALL about the hashtags. That’s how we get seen, that’s how we show up in peoples time lines. You can link your Twitter and Facebook profiles to your Instagram account too. I generally don’t post to twitter from there, simply because the image is far too big for twitter. I do post to Facebook though. Instagram hashtag tips

If you’re going to post to Facebook through Instagram, then leave out the hashtags in your post and post them in the comments section of your Instagram post. There is nothing worse than seeing 10+ hashtags on a Facebook post!

Here’s how to research #hashtags!

That little icon at the bottom that looks like a magnifing glass, click on that. Type in hashtags that are relevant to your niche and then click Tags. You’ll get a drop down of hashtags used with those words in. Click the first few. You’ll arrive at the top images for those hashtags.

Next: Click on the images and look at the hashtags used on that post. This bit of research will provide a bunch of new hashtags for you to use. You’ll want to use a few high rolling hashtags, but also smaller ones in order to get seen. When you mix up popular hashtags and less popular hashtags, magic starts to happen.

Consistency Tip

As with anything social media, consistency is always going to be key and secondly what you put out there. Because i do social media in my sleep, i have no trouble getting all these things done regularly. For some it may feel a bit daunting.

Here’s what you do: You pick 2 platforms where you think your audience is hanging out and you get really good at those. You absolutely do not have to be on every social media platform!

Make 2018 the year you do better on Instagram with these few essential Instagram Tips. Good luck.
