Content Marketing Distribution Tips You Can Can Start Implementing Straight Away

Content marketing is a key point of any business in this day and age. Just about any business knows that and if you don’t, you need to get up to speed and quickly.

Let me give you a little example about content distribution. Last week I talked about blogging regularly. So you’ve spent the last week perfecting your latest blog post, finally post it and then what? How do you distribute it after that?

Content Marketing ~ How best to distribute your content.

Personally for my business, i have found that posting my blog posts on Twitter has really helped generate more traffic. At social success with Sonya, we don’t just post the new blogs, we post the old ones too, because they are blog posts of value to my audience. I do post them on Facebook too, but i find they get more interaction on Twitter. How do you distribute your blog posts?

A big mistake that businesses make, is spending 99% of their time crafting their content, and 1% of their time focused on content distribution. It’s not just about writing great content and creating pretty graphics, it’s about getting it out there for people to see too.

Another key point in content marketing and how to distribute it: NEVER rely on just one stream of distribution. Use various social media platforms effectively, use your email list and any other way you can think of. Consistent content marketing is absolutely essential in small and large businesses. Don’t get slack, get creating and get your content out there.

Quick Content and Marketing Checklist:
  • Blog weekly and then deliver that blog post via social media platforms regularly and potentially through your email list too.
  • Always deliver the goods, if you say you’re going to do something, then do it.
  • Design great graphics for your posts, blog and non blog posts too.
  • Create different graphics to use on Twitter, even for the same blog post, it will catch more peoples attention.
  • Spend more time disturbing your content, not just creating it.

Guess what i am off to do right now? Go and create more graphics for my blog posts and schedule some on my Twitter profile.

Preparing For Outsourcing

 Preparing for Outsourcing

Preparing For Outsourcing

Are you preparing for outsourcing but not sure which steps to take first? Over loaded with work? Not enough hours in the day? Then i am guessing you have been thinking about outsourcing but may not be sure where to start? Let me just say that is completely normal.

Here is what i need you to do: Go and grab a piece of paper and maybe a coffee or tea to keep you company. Then let’s go through a few steps to help you decide which part of your business you’d like to outsource.

Outsourcing Steps – Let’s Write A List (I do love a good list)

  1. Firstly, outsourcing is an exciting time, it means you’re serious and ready to take that next step. So let’s get everything on paper that takes up a bunch of your time. Is it content creation? Scheduling on your social media platforms? Let’s write down all the points that take up several hours of your day/week and that maybe you don’t particularly enjoy.
  2. Now let’s prioritise that list into what you like doing, to what you like doing the least. Beside each item, put how many hours a week you spend doing that project/task.
  3. Now let’s decide if these tasks are something Only you can do or can somebody else jump in and help? For instance, content creation can easily be outsourced, as well as blogging, scheduling and interacting with people over on your social media platforms. Then there may be things like replying to emails that maybe you’d like to do only because you have a specialised niche.
  4. Lastly but not least and an important part, let’s think about what you can afford to pay monthly to outsource. Outsourcing isn’t always cheap (not if you want it done properly anyway) Sometimes you need to build up or save to start outsourcing but once you see how many hours a week you are saving, therefore enabling you to expand your business and also spend time with your family, you will see that outsourcing was worth every penny and you’ll find yourself outsourcing more.
What else can a good VA do?

Most virtual assistants are happy to cater and work out a specific package just for you and your business, dependant on your budget. So don’t be afraid to ask. But also do remember that a good VA won’t do anything for free (or close to free) they value their time and expertise and they have families to feed too.

Welcome to the world of out sourcing, where your journey is about to step up to a new level.

Using Instagram For Business

Using Instagram For Business

Are you using Instagram for business? Not sure what you’re doing on there or how to use it? Instagram is a little different from posting on Facebook and Twitter. Read on to find out how to use Instagram for business effectively.

Tips On Using Instagram For Business

Instagram sure is different than posting on Facebook or Twitter. On Facebook you need to be consistent and posting at least 6-8 times a day to ensure your fans are seeing your posts. On twitter you should be posting at least 12+ times a day and then some, to get seen. It’s a massively fast moving platform over there.

Instagram only needs maybe 2 posts a day at the most, otherwise you’ll bombard peoples new feeds on there and they’ll get fed up.

Get Creative On Social Media

Your Instagram Bio

First of all your Instagram bio needs to look appealing and let people know what it is you actually do. You don’t get many characters in which do so, so be clever. Here is my IG account if you’d like to take a look at how i have done it – GO HERE.

Hashtags and How Often To Post on Instagram.

Don’t forget the hashtags. Instagram is all about the hashtags and using them correctly. Use the hashtags at the end of your message rather than not within your message. It doesn’t make for easy reading if you hashtag stack within your message.

Do not just post sale posts, this is the rule for Facebook and Twitter too, people just don’t want to see it. Post valuable content and nice meme’s. What goes down even better is if you create your own posts, so that it makes it more authentic and professional. It is all abut building relationships with your audience.

Ensure the images are the correct size for Instagram, you don’t want text running off the page, it doesn’t look good. The same goes for your other social media platforms.

Be consistent. Don’t post and then disappear for days, you will soon be forgotten and people will move on. You need to get serious about how much you are posting and engaging with your audience, it should be several times a day, no excuses!

If time management is an issue for you or your business, read my blog post on Time Management Here and get your schedule in order.

These are all basic tips that will help any business grow on social media. If you need help setting up your Instagram account, then contact me for a quote to get your Instagram Bio looking great. It will include a kick butt bio too.

Most of all, have fun on there, have fun on all your business platforms. Now go and create some relationships and let’s make some money. At Social Success with Sonya, it’s all about both fun and success. YES BOTH!

What NOT To Do On Twitter

What NOT To Do On Twitter and How To Best Avoid Wasting Valuable Time

Mistakes People Make Using Twitter All The Time

I hoped you’d click through and see this and here you are. Twitter is an important part of my business and it has brought great exposure and clients my way. It isn’t for everyone though. How do i know? Once upon a time i ran a retail business and it didn’t work so well, despite having a 1000’s of followers. Facebook worked the best for that business. But Twitter has done an amazing job for me in helping other businesses and there is a reason for that.

So, what NOT to do on Twitter

STOP making your newsfeed all about you. It’s just boring and not what people want to read/see. Also stop trying to ‘sell’ to people all day long. Booooring! People want value, not pushy sales people.

What you want to be doing is sharing motivational quotes, valuable tips that relate to your niche. So if you’re in the coffee business, you might share a meme that say’s ‘Coffee makes you do silly things faster’ You want to make people smile, you want to evoke an emotion, so that they share that post, retweet it or comment. This goes for Facebook too.

Another tip, don’t open a twitter account and then follow everyone you see. Surely if you are a business you want to target people who might be interested at some point or another in what you sell? Are you getting my drift now? You need to have a strategy, not play the guessing the game. One way of doing that is by using the advanced search feature within Twitter.

I have come to love Twitter. Yes it is a noisy place, however once you know what you’re doing, you’ll find yourself building wonderful relationships.

Have fun using using this powerful social media platform, but do use it effectively. To speak to me about your social media, Contact Me Here today.

Content Marketing and Being Consistent.

Content Marketing and Being Consistent.

Content marketing is one thing in business you need to get good at if you want to succeed and make money. What is content? Content is what you’re putting out there for prospective clients to see daily and you want to make sure it’s good content.

Great Marketing is Key! If you’re not being consistent, not only will you not be creating relationships or making money, your audience will literally forget about you. It’s true. Let’s face it, everyone is doing the job i do right? I know 20+ people doing what i do and there are 1000’s more, so i need to make sure i am in my audiences newsfeed daily. I want them to come to me when they need help, not my colleagues.

content marketing

Is your content marketing up to scratch?

So how does my content marketing look?

I schedule at least 8-10 posts per day on Facebook and at least 12 on Twitter, but i ensure to post on Twitter throughout the day too. With twitter moving at such a high speed you have to be showing up regularly. I also engage with my followers several times a day. My graphics are the correct size for either Facebook and Twitter so that they can easily be seen by my audience.

The same goes for my Instagram graphics. They are the correct size for Instagram, the text does Not run off the page. It’s a pet hate of mine. The way i see it, if you’re not good at creating graphics, then let someone else do it for you. OR get good at it. It doesn’t look professional when your images are all over the place and unreadable. Not to mention if they are all the wrong size too.

Content marketing isn’t just about marketing your products or your services, you need to engage with your audience. Ask them how they are today, tell them good morning and good night. Maybe ask them how they take their coffee? It’s about creating relationships first, if you only remember two things about this blog post. It’s about creating relationships and being consistent.

What Can You Do?

Don’t just throw content out there for the sake of it, take time to create content, study your audience and if you have no idea what you’re doing, then please let me help. My content packages are popular. See them Here and see which one fits your business needs.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Starting a Small Business

Starting a Small Business – The Do’s and Don’ts

Starting a small business is daunting and many will make mistakes at the start of this journey (take this from someone who knows and has made these mistakes)

I’ll start with the Dont’s and then we’ll end this blog with all the Do’s that you’ll be able to put into action.

The Dont’s of Starting a Small Business

So you’ve decided to set up a small business, you’ve decided what you want to do and what you want to call it, you may have even set up your Facebook page. But here are some of the things you Don’t want to do when starting your new business.

  • DON’T try and do everything all at once. One thing at a time. A business takes time to build, it’s a journey, not a race.
  • DON’T use any other platform than WordPress for your blog (yes you will have to blog if you want to get more reach and make more money) and use WordPress for your website too.
  • DON’T Listen to all your friends and family giving advice, you don’t have to take their advice. Nod, say thank you, but don’t get bogged down with their ideas. This is Your business, not theirs.
  • DON’T set up on every social media platform and be everywhere all at once, start on 2 platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, grow those and then add in another social platform. Time in business is precious, use it wisely.
  • DON’T take things personally and try not get overwhelmed by other peoples opinions.
  • DON’T sacrifice friendships and relationships for your business, plan your time.

    starting a small business

Starting a Small Business is Exciting.

Ok, here are the DO’S In Starting Up Your Small Business
  • DO have fun, it’s an exciting time, so enjoy it.
  • DO have persistence, there will be bumps in the road, get over them and move on.
  • PROVIDE great customer service right from the beginning, service is everything.
  • DO ask for help if you need it. I didn’t and wished i had. I built my first business with 2 small children and it was exhausting.
  • DO get a fabulous diary and plan the hours in your day. I use Leonie Dawsons planners, they are a firm favourite and are on their way.
  • DO set professional boundaries from the start, don’t let people think you’ll answer their queries on email at 10PM. I made this mistake and i am now very strict on my boundaries. Emails ONLY get answered during business hours and most of all i try not to work too much around the children.

I do wish you every success in your small business. Starting up a small business definitely comes with it’s challenges, but it also comes with great rewards. I will never forget the first corset i sold in my first business or the first client i got in this business. There is nothing quite like the excitement of it.

Finally Good luck in your journey, wishing you lots of success in building your new career.

5 Headline Ideas For Your Business

5 Killer Headline Ideas

Headline ideas for blog posts and newsletters. Let’s nail this. Headlines in business are as important as drinking enough water every day. If your headlines suck, then people won’t be reading your blogs, google won’t be picking up your blog posts, people just won’t be reading your stuff, full stop.

Headline ideas aren’t always easy to come by, especially when your imagination isn’t flowing. Take a look at all the popular magazines out there, they have a specialist team that comes up with their headline ideas, because they want people picking up their magazines and buying them. Why do people buy them? Mostly because the title has grabbed them whilst standing in a queue somewhere.headline ideas

Your headline ideas will come from these:

The Transactional Headline: This headline is making your audience a promise. Here’s an example ~ Give me 60 minutes of your time and i’ll change your way of thinking about food. You’re promising something big there.

The Reason Why Headline: Robert Cialdini research showed that simply adding the word “because” to a request makes it more likely you’ll get what you’re asking for. Use the power of the “reason why” in your headlines. Here is an example ~ 5 Reasons Your Blog Posts Aren’t Getting Read.

The How To Headline: This headline speaks for itself. Here are a couple of examples ~  How To Write Killer Blog Posts. How To Make Your Flowers Grow For Longer. People love these kind of titles, it’s the most used, but be careful not to overload. Notice I used it on this blog post too.

The If Then Headline: These are headlines along the lines of ‘If you can do this, you can do that.’ Example ~ If you can bake a cake, you can decorate one too, here’s how’

Finally, The Probing Question Headline: These can really relate to your audience, examples ~ Don’t you hate it when your cat does this? or Do you wish more people opened your emails?

You will write many a bad headline before you start writing better ones. We all do it, i know i can do better and i know i need to print this blog post off and have it on my wall in my office to remind me! You should do the same. Don’t forget, you can use all these headline ideas for your email list too.

Have an amazing day and you can find me and my services here.
