Just yesterday I had some Linkedln success that I just have to share with you. I’ve always has success with other platforms, but didn’t put much effort into Linkedln. So I did my homework, paid for a course and 2 weeks ago I started putting some effort in.

Almost every day I reached out and connected with people in the industries i’d like to potentially work with. Most accepted and boy have I grown my list by 100’s in just 2 weeks.

I admit, I have sat there thinking several times that my posts weren’t getting much traction. Then BOOM baby, people started messaging me! They had never engaged in my posts, but liked what i was doing. I had a chat with someone on Monday about what I could do for his business. I had planned on following up with him towards the end of the week. He rang Me yesterday and said he’d like to go ahead – just like that. He even paid his invoice within half an hour – a dream client right? I was of course buzzing.

Being human in business is a given if you know what you’re doing. However, there are many out there who have no clue, they’re still advertising like it was 10 years ago OR all they’re doing is selling their products and boring the hell out of everyone. Is that you? I hope not!

How to be human in business

It’s easy really, just be yourself. Be the person your friends and family see, let your audience see a real person behind the business. There is no more B2B or B2C anymore, it’s B2H (business to human).

Social media is packed full of businesses now, so it’s become harder and harder to get in front of your audience, never mind stay in front of them. It’s time to stand out and jazz things up. Ready?

Tips on how to be human in business

  • Show a behind the scenes picture. It could be what you’re working on or even your office space.
  • How about a Facebook Live? These can be real game changers and it’s a great way to build report with your audience. Make a list of things you could talk about, then just go for it. Don’t worry if you make mistakes, it just makes you more human!
  • Reply to every comment on your social media platforms. Don’t just ‘Like’ it, actually converse.
  • Post relatable content to your audience that has nothing to do with what you sell. Example: If your audience is predominantly mothers, post a coffee post that says’ i will mostly be living on coffee today – the baby didn’t sleep a wink’. You get the picture. There a ton of ideas out there.
