Repurposing Old Content On Social Media

Repurposing Old Content On Social Media

Repurposing old content is totally allowed on social media, it’s just about being a bit tactical about it and not showing the same posts every day. Creating content for your business and marketing is time consuming, which is why many businesses out source this to the likes of me. Creating content can not only be challenging, but also hugely time consuming and sometimes coming up with new content can seem impossible. Not everyone can create a new graphic in 2 minutes like those of us programmed to do it.

Repurposing old content is still going to attract customers and turn them into leads/clients.

How repurposing old content using social media is huge:

It’s something i do a lot for both myself and for clients and it can bring great results. Who says you can’t post a blog post you did 6 months ago on your social media networks? Who says you can’t use that graphic you created last month? You will constantly have new eyes on your business on your social media platforms, so repurposing old content is getting seen by new people.

Not to mention if you post them at different times of day, different time zones see them. My clients stretch from the UK to the USA, so my posts at 2am, get seem by my USA audience, it’s a Win Win. What is stopping you from doing the same? You’re not up at 2am? Why are you not scheduling posts like every clever entrepreneur is doing? Read this post on scheduling and why it is absolutely essential.

Repurposing old content means i am getting more organic reach too, which means FREE reach. Every business whats free reach and to spend less on marketing. I get that budgets are tight, i was once at the beginning.

One Last Tip: Create different graphics to repurpose your old content, then people won’t get bored of the same images. This is a huge and free marketing tip, so use it daily and get more reach.

Story Telling in Business

Story Telling in Business

Story telling in business is one of the biggest marketing tips you need to take notice of. Why? Because people like to see real people, like to know who you are and how did you get to where you are. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t need to talk about yourself all day long. Below i am going to give you some tips on how story telling can impact your business and how you can start story telling. Story telling is personal and people like it.

Tips on how to start story telling in your business.

You could start with telling people how your business was born. How did you start doing what you’re doing and Why did you decide to go down the path you’re on. You can do this through a blog post or through a few little posts on social media. BUT a great one is to jump online and do a Facebook Live and get talking to people. People can see your manner, hear your voice and see your face. This goes a long way in building relationships with your audience.

You could even incorporate a couple of stories of people you’ve worked with and how you came to meet. This is a great way to show examples of how you work too. Plus it’s ok to talk about your family every now and then and what you are up to over the weekend.

How can story telling impact my business?

If your competitors aren’t sharing stories, then this can easily set you apart from them and you will be remembered over them in a heart beat. Because you are building those all important relationships and people are starting to like you. Now we all know, people buy from those that they Know, Like and Trust. Yes i know you’ve heard that before, BUT i need it to sink in. It’s a vital part of business. Let people get to know you through story telling and you’ll start seeing a difference in your business.

Story telling earns peoples trust. It’s said that 92% of consumers say they trust earned media, aka personal recommendations, above all other forms of media. Earned media can include word of mouth, customer recommendations/referrals, media mentions, etc. That’s a huge number and if that hasn’t convinced you that story telling in your business is a no brainer, then maybe nothing will.

Social Media and The Best Times to Post

Social Media and The Best Times to Post

Social media can be a bit of a jungle when using it for business, many businesses daily are fudging it, posting randomly and without any strategy in place. I came across a post by Social Media Marketing Group and found some interesting social media posting facts.

Social Media – When should i post?

Wondering when you should be posting on social media? Check out these super interesting statistics:

Post On Facebook, the data shows as follows:

Sunday: 32% higher engagement
Thursday: 18% higher engagement
Friday: 18% higher engagement
Saturday: 32% higher engagement
9 am
1 pm: Get the most shares
3 pm: Get the most clicks
On Twitter, however, it looks a bit different:

Wednesday is the best day to tweet.

The best times are 12 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm.
Posting on Wednesday and noon and between 5 and 6 pm is optimal, though to increase retweets and clickthroughs, you can also tweet right at noon and 3pm. You can safely experiment with 2-3 am, 6-7am, and 9-10 pm.

Use Pinterest? Take a look at this figures and facts:

Sunday: Best for Food
Monday: Best for Fitness
Tuesday: Best for Gadgets
Wednesday: Best for Quotes
Thursday: Best for Outfits
Friday: Best for GIFs
Saturday: Best for Travel
The best times to pin are 2 pm, 9 pm, and 2 am. Avoid Pinterest during work hours, and for best results, include a call to action, and try to match the best topics of the day.

LinkedIn then changes it up and the best days to post on there are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. The best time to post are either between 7-8am, then noon and then 5-6pm. The times when professionals aren’t sat at their desk.

The data for Instagram shows people are engaged throughout the week, however Mondays and Thursday tend to get a bit more attention.

I hope these facts and figures have given you something yo think about and maybe a new strategy is on the horizon for your business? This Blog Post on what content to post may help you too.  Let me know if these work for you.

Using Instagram For Business

Using Instagram For Business

Are you using Instagram for business? Not sure what you’re doing on there or how to use it? Instagram is a little different from posting on Facebook and Twitter. Read on to find out how to use Instagram for business effectively.

Tips On Using Instagram For Business

Instagram sure is different than posting on Facebook or Twitter. On Facebook you need to be consistent and posting at least 6-8 times a day to ensure your fans are seeing your posts. On twitter you should be posting at least 12+ times a day and then some, to get seen. It’s a massively fast moving platform over there.

Instagram only needs maybe 2 posts a day at the most, otherwise you’ll bombard peoples new feeds on there and they’ll get fed up.

Get Creative On Social Media

Your Instagram Bio

First of all your Instagram bio needs to look appealing and let people know what it is you actually do. You don’t get many characters in which do so, so be clever. Here is my IG account if you’d like to take a look at how i have done it – GO HERE.

Hashtags and How Often To Post on Instagram.

Don’t forget the hashtags. Instagram is all about the hashtags and using them correctly. Use the hashtags at the end of your message rather than not within your message. It doesn’t make for easy reading if you hashtag stack within your message.

Do not just post sale posts, this is the rule for Facebook and Twitter too, people just don’t want to see it. Post valuable content and nice meme’s. What goes down even better is if you create your own posts, so that it makes it more authentic and professional. It is all abut building relationships with your audience.

Ensure the images are the correct size for Instagram, you don’t want text running off the page, it doesn’t look good. The same goes for your other social media platforms.

Be consistent. Don’t post and then disappear for days, you will soon be forgotten and people will move on. You need to get serious about how much you are posting and engaging with your audience, it should be several times a day, no excuses!

If time management is an issue for you or your business, read my blog post on Time Management Here and get your schedule in order.

These are all basic tips that will help any business grow on social media. If you need help setting up your Instagram account, then contact me for a quote to get your Instagram Bio looking great. It will include a kick butt bio too.

Most of all, have fun on there, have fun on all your business platforms. Now go and create some relationships and let’s make some money. At Social Success with Sonya, it’s all about both fun and success. YES BOTH!

Quality content needs to weave through your social media, your blog posts and your newsletters, or you will bore others.. Pretty sure that’s not what you want right? Hence why your content needs to stand out.

How Do I Create Great Quality Content?

You may not be tech savvy, but using adobe spark or canva or great tools to create awesome graphics. You don’t need to be very tech savvy in order to use these graphic design tools.

Whether your post on social media is a question, a quote or asking for feedback, you need to stand out from all the noise. Therefore if it’s a blog post you’re writing, then your blog post needs to be laid out in such a way that it is easy to read and as a result people don’t get lost in a jumble of words.

Here are useful some tips:

Content Marketing and Being Consistent.

Content Marketing and Being Consistent.

Content marketing is one thing in business you need to get good at if you want to succeed and make money. What is content? Content is what you’re putting out there for prospective clients to see daily and you want to make sure it’s good content.

Great Marketing is Key! If you’re not being consistent, not only will you not be creating relationships or making money, your audience will literally forget about you. It’s true. Let’s face it, everyone is doing the job i do right? I know 20+ people doing what i do and there are 1000’s more, so i need to make sure i am in my audiences newsfeed daily. I want them to come to me when they need help, not my colleagues.

content marketing

Is your content marketing up to scratch?

So how does my content marketing look?

I schedule at least 8-10 posts per day on Facebook and at least 12 on Twitter, but i ensure to post on Twitter throughout the day too. With twitter moving at such a high speed you have to be showing up regularly. I also engage with my followers several times a day. My graphics are the correct size for either Facebook and Twitter so that they can easily be seen by my audience.

The same goes for my Instagram graphics. They are the correct size for Instagram, the text does Not run off the page. It’s a pet hate of mine. The way i see it, if you’re not good at creating graphics, then let someone else do it for you. OR get good at it. It doesn’t look professional when your images are all over the place and unreadable. Not to mention if they are all the wrong size too.

Content marketing isn’t just about marketing your products or your services, you need to engage with your audience. Ask them how they are today, tell them good morning and good night. Maybe ask them how they take their coffee? It’s about creating relationships first, if you only remember two things about this blog post. It’s about creating relationships and being consistent.

What Can You Do?

Don’t just throw content out there for the sake of it, take time to create content, study your audience and if you have no idea what you’re doing, then please let me help. My content packages are popular. See them Here and see which one fits your business needs.

Content Creation and Management

Content creation and management for social media, do you struggle with it? I know lot of people do struggle with what to post on social media and often spend hours and hours on this per week. But then you come across someone like me who can do that leg work for you and create content for your platforms whilst you concentrate on other things.

It’s important to post regularly on your social media platforms, so content creation and management are key. I have a bunch evergreen content on stand by that i can grab at any point for my business. Do you have a similar system or something like this in place?

You must post things that are engaging, things that people will want to respond to, comment on, share or Like. If you’re not doing this, then you’re not building relationships with your audience, which is key! Don’t forget, you’ll need to be popping in several times a day at least to answer people too.

Content Creation and Management and What I Can Offer.

I’m not pushing you to buy from me, but i just want you to know that these options are out there should you need them in the future. My first package is a £99 package and you can read more about it HERE.

Then there is the bigger package (click on the image for full details) where i will provide a massive 55 pieces of content for you to use any time of year and that you can re-use when you need to.  We can tailor this to your preferred social media platform, whether it be Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I am currently working on content creation for a company in the USA who want 75 pieces of content.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it means you are concentrating on something else and need to out source the kind of stuff that can be time consuming or maybe your business growing and it is time to out source a little now?

It’s a pretty good feeling when you to source and lighten that load. I know from experience experience from owning a retail online store, things got manic and i found an awesome VA (virtual assistant) to help me.

So if you need help, reach out, i won’t bite 🙂

Social Media Nightmares and How To Avoid Them

Social Media Nightmares and How To Avoid Them

Nightmares are scary and making mistakes happen, but when you make mistakes on Social Media, the whole world seems to find out!

Here are a couple of mistakes people are making daily on social media and how you can avoid them.

  • Typo’s, spelling mistakes and grammar. Well we all make spelling mistakes when we are rushing or reading back on content too quickly whilst checking for errors before sending it out. You need to take time out and re-read your content before throwing it out there (what are the chances i publish this and there is a typo in this blog post now lol) Grammar, seriously this is my massive bug bear. People can’t get their there, they’re and their’s right and stuff like that makes my blood boil a bit. If you’re in business, you need to be getting these minor things right. If you are dyslexic or have a problem of that nature, maybe consider someone else to write your copy?

    social media mistakes

[tweetthis]Even when you’re careful, spelling and grammar mistakes happen. Don’t sweat the small stuff, learn from your mistakes. [/tweetthis]

  • Public annoyances or awkward customers. I don’t believe there is such a thing as a customer base that is 100% satisfied, mistakes happen on the business side of things and sometimes a customer just isn’t happy. What do you do? You take a massive breath (or two) and calmly deal with this customer. They may be writing all over your social media platforms complaining and moaning, all you can do is try and calm them down and if you were in the wrong, own up to your mistake. Do NOT get into an argument with a customer, they’ll never be your customer again if you do. Try and take the conversation offline if you can or to email, where nobody else will see the grumpy customers words.

Building your business together and how i can help.

Building your business together and how i can help.

Several years ago it became apparent that i was rather good on social media and found a natural aptitude towards Facebook. I can’t think of anything i’d rather be doing (well maybe a cocktail on a beach somewhere) i do know i can help you achieve that too.
So i trained, i even went to the States and trained with some of the best. If you’re building your business and are struggling with tie management or just find you’re not good at certain things, that’s where i step in.

Is Your Social Media Campaign Working?

Is Your Social Media Campaign Working?

What makes a social media campaign work? It’s a question most Think they know the answer to, but it is in fact something a little different.

Did you initially think that a working social media campaign means more sales? Well most would think that. But no, it firstly all starts with building relationships. This is a key fact that many small businesses, no matter their niches tend to neglect and then find they are losing customers. Customer care is the most important  factor here.

Let’s look into how to make a social campaign work for you.

So we have established that the first key point here is to build and create long standing relationships with your customers.

social media campaigns

Read here how we help clients with their social media campaigns.

If you are asking yourself questions like ‘but how do I do this?’ or ‘when will I see the money?’ then we have problems there that we need to sort out first. In this day and age, people are buying from social media platforms more and more and people want to buy from businesses that they know, like and trust. If you’re solely reliant on the end result (Money) then you won’t be in business for long. If you need help with this, see how we can help manage your social media platforms and start building awesome relationships with your audience HERE.

Now remember, you cannot systemise relationships, but you Can schedule your posts ahead of time (all organised business owners need to be doing this). Also you need to remember you are not just pushing your product on people, you are asking questions, you are posting great images with quotes that your target audience will relate to. Try posting at the end of the day ‘Describe your day in just 3 words’ and you’ll see the interaction. Now don’t forget to engage with those that reply too!

So what else makes a social media campaign work?

Well consistency of course! If you’re not consistent and only showing up when you want  sale, then you’re not building relationships. This is where scheduling is great. I am off on a spa day tomorrow and will have everything scheduled for tomorrow by this afternoon, then all I need to do is pop in a few times to say hi and answer peoples questions.

One final big Tip: Learn how to like your audience, become their friend and they Will like you back.
